LISC and Coalition Partners Awarded $2 Billion via National Clean Investment Fund
LISC is one of five organizations leading Power Forward Communities, a new coalition investing in green housing and jobs to support economic opportunity and climate resilience. Today, the EPA awarded the coalition $2 billion to implement a decarbonization strategy that also lifts up under-resourced communities—making housing more affordable, mitigating climate impacts and improving local health.
LISC Names Michael T. Pugh as CEO
With 30 years of experience in banking, most recently as president and CEO of Carver Bancorp, Pugh will lead LISC’s national network of programs and offices, as well as comprehensive investment strategies that address gaps in health, wealth and opportunity across the country. “He is passionate about extending opportunities to people who have not had the chance to fully participate in the American economy,” said Robert E. Rubin, LISC’s chairman. “We look forward to him bringing his considerable skills to LISC to help us make lasting, positive impact.”
Cleveland celebrates opening of Louise Stokes Scholar House
Cleveland community leaders and Cuyahoga County officials will join the Stokes family Wednesday morning to celebrate the ribbon cutting on the Louise C. Stokes Scholar House. The 40-unit apartment building will provide affordable housing for full-time students and their children, according to a release from CHN Housing Partners.
